Man Sentenced To Two Years In Prison For Insulting Kuwait’s Ruler On Twitter

Emir of Kuwait, Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah
Emir of Kuwait, Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah
Kuwait’s lower court on Sunday sentenced opposition tweeter Hamad Al Khalidi to two years in jail on charges of insulting the Gulf state’s ruler, a rights activist said.
“Al Khalidi has been sentenced to two years in jail with immediate effect,” the director of the Kuwait Society for Human Rights, Mohammad Al Humaidi, said on his Twitter account.
Al Khalidi was charged with writing remarks on his Twitter account deemed offensive to the Emir, Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah. The verdict is not final, but his jailing was immediate pending the appeals process.
His lawyer Jasser Al Jadaei said he will file an appeal later on Sunday against the verdict and seek an early hearing.
Al Khalidi is one of dozens of opposition activists and former MPs who have either been sentenced to various jail terms or are on trial on similar charges.
Last week, the appeals court toughened the jail term of opposition tweeter Bader Al Rasheedi to five years for calling for a coup and insulting the emir.
Al Rasheedi has been in jail since November 28 after the lower court gave him a two-year term on charges that also included spreading false news about the nation and insulting the ruler.
More than a dozen youth activists and former MPs have so far been handed down jail terms following a clamp-down on opposition social network users and activists.
Criticising the emir is illegal in Kuwait and is considered to be an offence against state security.
The Kuwaiti opposition has staged regular demonstrations in protest against an amendment last year of the electoral law and subsequent December elections. It has also demanded the dissolution of parliament and new elections. [AFP]

rihanna stripper pic for april fool leaked

Rihanna takes her bad girl image one step further by posting X-rated pictures of strippers on her Instagram page.

The first snap – captioned “I love my job #3girlzon1ph***inpole”– shows three women pole dancing in skimpy underwear.
But she goes much further with the next, capturing a completely naked woman standing up.
A third picture, taken from behind, is of a woman bending over wearing nothing but thigh-length boots.
And the raunchy shots were captioned with lyrics from her song, Pour It Up.
She wrote: “I got mo money” and “$trip club$ and $$$ bill$.
The 25-year-old took the snaps while partying in Calgary, where she is due to play her latest Diamonds Tour gig tonight.
But she soon regretted posting the images online, taking them off her account and tweeting: “This is terrible.”
Later the What’s My Name singer posted a poll naming her as the UK’s most influential pop star and appeared to have a dig at her rivals.
She wrote: “I only know how to be number 1!! I could use a challenge... “How dat feel down there on ya knees, Huh?!”
Meanwhile a radio interview with Chris Brown sparked rumours that he had split with the Bajan star – who is on a world tour until October.
But the chat on Power 106 seems to have been spliced with an old interview, and is set for release on Monday – as an April Fool’s joke.

mysterious case as 9 year old kill himself

The mysterious death of a nine-year-old boy, who allegedly committed suicide, has thrown residents of Tundun-Wada, in the Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, into confusion while law enforcement agents are still battling to unravel the circumstances behind the incident.
Family members and other people who live in the same house with the deceased are still wondering why Henry Goodnews, a Primary 1 pupil, would decide to take his own life.
Saturday Tribune gathered that the incident occurred at about 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday when the deceased’s parents had both gone out. His body was said to have been found dangling from a rope within the premises by one of the occupants.
The incident created a lot of hysteria in the area, with people wondering how the young boy was able to take his own life successfully without anybody seeing him. The position they found the boy was also a source of concern to those who thronged the house to catch a glimpse of the body.
Saturday Tribune gathered that the body of the boy was found with a belt wound around his neck. The belt itself was tied to a rope usually used for drying clothes after washing. A bucket of water was also said to have been found beside him, which suggests that perhaps he was about to take his bath before the incident.
The mother of the deceased, Madam Hanatu Goodnews, who is yet to recover from the shock occasioned by the death of her first son, said the incident was still like a dream to her.
She told Saturday Tribune that the boy was hale and hearty when she left home that day.
She said: “I left home that morning to take his younger brother to the hospital. Before I left, I told him to stay at home and do some domestic work that he could handle. I had no premonition that anything would happen to him because he was doing well that particular morning.
“At about 12 noon, I was called by my husband that my boy had died. He did not explain the circumstance of his death to me. I therefore abandoned what I was doing and rushed home.
On getting home, I saw a lot of people in front of our house. As I approached, they stopped me from entering but I forced myself in, only to discover the boy with a rope around his neck.
“My major concern now is how the boy could take his own life by himself and the people in the house did not know. In this house, there has never been a time that people would not be around. There will be at least up to six people at home. How come the boy took his own life and nobody was aware?”
A relation of the husband, identified as Bala Goodnews, also asked a similar question. He told Saturday Tribune that they suspected foul play in the whole thing, saying that the way the boy hanged from a rope that, according to him, could not sustain any object, was suspicious. He maintained that there was no way the boy would hang himself in such a manner, considering his strength and age.
Bala Goodnews urged the police to probe the incident, saying the way it happened called for thorough investigation. He urged the police to spread their dragnet to ensure that the perpetrators of the dastardly act were brought to book to serve as a deterrent to others.
Saturday Tribune gathered that residents of the area where the incident occurred are currently living in fear of arrest by the police. A source close to the house disclosed that all the tenants in the house where the incident occurred, including the landlord of the house who does not even reside there, were interrogated on Wednesday at the ‘A’ Division of the Nigeria Police command, Jos. Some people in the neighborhood are also said to have gone into hiding to avoid arrest.
When contacted, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Salawu Adigun, who confirmed the incident, said the police had commenced full investigations, but said he would not make further comments on the issue until investigations were completed.

'It's so so difficult to find a wife' - Mikel Obi opens up

On his marriage dilemma, the Chelsea midfielder told sports journalist, Kayode Tijani that finding a wife is so so difficult that he's leaving it to God. Mikel said:
I know, normal people don’t go through what I am going through now when it concerns finding a Wife to marry, normal people don’t at all. Believe me it’s so so difficult, very difficult, it’s so so difficult you just have to leave it to God. To find someone who truly loves you, there might be someone who really loves me truly for who I am but I may not be aware but maybe you don’t know but you may think she’s one of them people that loves you for who you are or what you have, because of your money, but maybe she’s there for you, you never know, you get so confused, now I have decided I will just leave it to God to decide who I get married to.
On his rumoured five Bentleys, what he said after the cut...

One thing is I really don’t go into the Nigerian papers, not like I don’t care but he called me, my agent called me, he was in Nigeria and he said to me there’s rumors that I have Bentleys, I am like what, five Bentleys? What am I going to do with five Bentleys? They are all same cars. Five Bentleys, I might have five different colors of them. I think it boils down to when you are doing really well, when things are going well for you, you become what people don’t expect you to become, what people don’t expect you to achieve, you know there’s always going to be rumors flying here and there., it all depends on how well you manage yourself though, you curtail yourself from things that are not right for you, I want to play this game for a very long time, I love Chelsea, I will like to finish my Career here at Chelsea but it depends on what happens, who comes and goes, that’s football, we shall see what the future holds.

Seriously stunning: Vanessa Williams and her daughters are just breathtaking – See Photos

Last week Allure revealed its first-ever anti-aging survey for the April 2013 issue. Amongst fascinating findings on sex appeal, beauty and celebrities–the study also found that black women believe they age the best. Duh! Black don’t crack.
The glossy tapped a few age-defying stars to be photographed with their daughters for the issue, which included actress Vanessa Williams and her daughters Jillian Hervey and Melanie Hervey.
“The Golden Age” feature also spotlighted Mary Steenburgen and daughter Lilly McDowell Walton, as well as Andie MacDowell along with her girls Rainey Qualley and Margaret Qualley.
These starlets have certainly aged beautifully and have passed down fabulous genes (and beauty wisdom) to their children. In a behind-the-scenes video documenting the shoot, Jillian, Vanessa’s 23-year-old daughter, says her mom is her role model for aging gracefully. “I try to do what she does and she looks fabulous.”
We wonder if that will include Botox?
Vanessa, 50, admits that she has undergone the wrinkle-zapping procedure, but only in the capable hands of those who will insure she can make expressions (a must-have when working as an actress). But you can’t fully hold off Father Time and gravity–even with poison shots to the face–so we think she looks pretty damn good for her age.
Here’s a look at Vanessa and her daughters in April’s Allure. Stunning, right?

lil wayne is epileptic?please pray for him............

American rapper Lil Wayne, has revealed that he is epileptic and as as result, he is prone to seizures when he doesn’t have enough rest and overworks himself.
Speculations have blamed use of sizzurps for the 30-year-old’s constant health issues, but in a new interview, Wayne, whose new LP, I Am Not a Human Being II will be in stores on Tuesday, broke his silence on the issue.
“The bad news is I’m epileptic so I’m prone to seizures,” Wayne explained. “This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth or seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures. Y’all just never hear about them. But this time, it got real bad because I had three of them in a row. With the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 percent.
The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest and overworking myself.”
Wayne also stated that he has never experienced three consecutive seizures before and the last experience was more dangerous than the previous cases.
“I have people around me. I’ve actually had [seizures] so much, they already know what to do. They already expect it. They already know how to handle it. Certain times I don’t even go to the hospital but this time it was real bad because, like I said, it was three in a row. I’ve never had three back-to-back like that and the third one was so bad.”

judge slept with a woman who has a case with him

Conflict of interest: Judge slept in his chambers with a woman who had a case before him (PICTURED)

He may be known as the “shirtless judge,” but there’s now concern about Wayne County Circuit Judge Wade McCree’s ability to keep his pants on in his court chambers.
Last year, McCree received some notoriety when it came out that he had sent a steamy shirtless cell phone photo of himself to a woman working as a bailiff in his court. The Michigan Supreme Court later reprimanded him for his conduct during that incident.
Now, he’s in trouble again — and this time for something far more serious than a racy photo.
McCree has admitted to engaging in sex in his chambers with Geniene La’Shay Mott, a woman whose child-support case he was overseeing and who claimed last year that she was pregnant with the judge’s child.
Answering a complaint against him by the Judicial Tenure Commission (JTC), McCree wrote that he made “the unfortunate decision to engage in a sexual relationship with Ms. Mott and also admits that on a few occasions, the relationshiptook place in his chambers,” WXYZ-TV reports, citing court records.
In his response to the court, McCree also makes the claim that their romantic engagements did not affect his judicial judgement in her child support case.
The JTC’s complaint against him alleges that he also sent text messages to Mott containing “derogatory references to defendants, litigants, or witnesses” and made astalking/extortion complaint about her to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office that contained false information.
He stands accused of 21 counts of judicial misconduct.
The Detroit News reports that he is currently on suspension without pay and could face further suspension, censure or removal from office, if found guilty.

Welcome to the world of one of Africa's richest men: HIS EXCELLENCY, OLUWO ANTONIO OLADEINDE FERNANDEZ, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Permanent Representative (see his writings to the President of the United Nations Security Council and United Nations Secretary General on behalf of President Ange-Félix Patassé of the Central African Republic in 1998 in the pictures). When it comes to the most impressive and exuberant display of the splendour of wealth, Fernandez dusts them all -by miles. The name 'Fernandez' is Portuguese in origin and shows that he is of the popular Fernandez family of Lagos. Historical accounts show that the Fernandezes were originally descendants of freed slaves from Brazil, where Portuguese is the official language. Some of the first modern-styled buildings in Lagos were built by the Fernandezes, and these buildings are known for their spectacular Brazilian architecture. Portuguese navigators were also the first European explorers to reach Lagos State. Actually, they gave the state the name 'Lagos'

For Ovation magazine to feature a man in 40 pages says a lot about his prestigious standing. Very secretive (not in a bad way or let me say he guards his privacy jealously) and aloof (he very rarely comes to Nigeria where he is from), this is one rich man in a class and mansion of his own -with no rivals but maybe a few big cats. His wealth has dazed and fazed many, and left even many more speechless. ANTONIO DEINDE FERNANDEZ. Okay, enough of that. Let's get some bits on him:

-He is the perfect combination of a diplomat (you can also refer to that as ambassador), businessman and yes, a gentleman. He is multilingual, tall and dark (yeah, take a look at the pix again, will you?)

-Even though he is Nigerian, he was appointed the Permanent Representative of Central African Republic (CAR) at the United Nations in 1997 (ain't that classy?, but with the current turmoil in CAR, with former President Francois Bozize fleeing the nation, things are hazy). -Fernandez is said to have interests in the CAR's oil industry (at a time, he was the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Central African Republic). That does not include his bauxite (for aluminum) exports, gold mines (in Angola) and diamonds pits. He owns Petro Inett, an oil company. Petro Inett is just one of them. He also has shares in View, Sandcat Petroleum, Sanantonio, Goldfields, Voguehope, Grantdalem Inuola, Sandcat Goldfields (cat, cat, now I understand those two, Woods and Petro Inett Equatorial Guinea.

-Before then, he had served as the Special Adviser to the President of Mozambique on International Economic Matters and from 1992-1995, he was the Ambassador-at-Large for the Republic of Togo and Angola.

-He was also once the Consul for Benin Republic (then Republic of Dahomey) (1966), made the Economic Advisor to the Angolan Government in 1982 (just for perspective, only Nigeria produces more oil than Angola in Africa, shey you gerrit?). To be specific, he was a long-time adviser to President José Eduardo dos Santos of Angola (he’s been ruling since 1975).

In 1984, he was the Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of Mozambique to the United Nations. At a point, he was a Deputy Minister of Finance in Swaziland.

-He has houses in Kano, built a tower for himself in Lagos (where he was born in 1936), New York (where he is said to stay almost permanently), Scotland, France, Belgium and the United Kingdom. But that’s not all, he has accounts in the Cayman Islands, France, Switzerland (I love that country joor), Ireland, Hong Kong, Scotland and the United States. Don’t ask me of Nigeria.

-He surrounds himself with the finest, classiest and the most exquisite things that money can buy.

In a divorce case with one of his former wives, it was revealed that he splashed 200,000 British Pounds on his seven-storey townhouse to buy 1,000 books of gold leaf to ‘toosh’ up the already ‘tooshed’ cornices and balustrades.

-A high chief of the Ogboni Confraternity, he is highly revered in his Yorubaland and his family motto is: Aguntan meji kii mumi ninu koto kan na (see images for the insignia). Okay, what that simply means is that two rams cannot drink from the same container. Or some people will say, there cannot be two captains on a ship.

-He once married (some reports insist they were only romantically linked) the Erelu of Lagos, Abiola Dosumu but they fell apart and the Erelu of Lagos has since stopped using his name, Fernandez.

Today, he is married to a beauty from Kano State. Her name? Haleema, and has a daughter, Mahreyah. She is said to be of the Alhaji Muhammadu Maude (also known as Maude Tobacco) family of Kano. Alhaji Maude was the Presidential Liaison Officer for Kano State during the Shehu Shagari presidency. A wealthy businessman, he made attempts to become governor of Kano State in the 1980s but lost even though his campaign was one of the most colourful and was associated with the use of yan banga, local thugs.

In 2012, he denied reuniting with Aduke, his former wife. The chief thundered: ‘It’s a big lie. It will never happen, even in a million years.’

-He owns one of the most luxurious homes in Kano State (with one of the largest horse stables and farms in Nigeria, one of the Boko Haram battles in January 2012 during which the pregnant wife of one of the Boko Haram leaders was reportedly killed, was close to his property). But the house is now said to be falling apart. Well, he doesn’t stay at home! He finished from Cambridge University and Columbia University (business degree) and has been using private jets long before people like Dangote and what is the name of that man again o….ehen! Adenuga! started dreaming of a billion dollars.

-He has been in the diplomatic business since 1966 so billions are not new to him. He has direct contacts to some of the most powerful world leaders, business executives and entrepreneurs. He is said to be very close to leaders like Nelson Mandela and George Walker Bush -and they address themselves by the first names. He surely pulls the strings. At a time, he wanted to sue a decorating firm for publishing the pictures of one of his properties that they had worked on. Okay o.

-A very deft diplomat was also instrumental to the Bangui Agreements of 1997. He has denied having any links with the Nkomati Accords signed in 1984 between Mozambique and South Africa, to which some have given him credits. He gave brilliant speeches at the United Nations, and below is an excerpt:

Mr. Fernandez (Central African Republic) I take pleasure in congratulating Mr. Opertti on his election to the presidency of the General Assembly at its fifty-third session, and I pledge my delegation’s full cooperation. I commend his predecessor, Mr. Udovenko, for bringing the fifty-second session of the General Assembly to a successful conclusion. I take great pleasure in expressing my pride in our Secretary-General, Mr. Kofi Annan. His leadership and many achievements during the short period of his tenure are highly commendable. Just as this session of the General Assembly coincides with the fiftieth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, it also coincides, providentially, with the fiftieth anniversary of the commencement of peacekeeping operations by the United Nations.

These coincidences are striking because, while one was envisaged in the Charter of our Organization and was the subject of painstaking negotiations, the other was a chance development, not having been envisaged in the Charter. Yet both have had a profound effect on the influence of the United Nations in global affairs and on the perception of the Organization by those whom it was established to serve and who were identified in the opening words of the Charter as “We the peoples of the United Nations”.

The double celebration this year should also enable us to appreciate better the interrelationship between human rights and peacekeeping. There can be no question of human rights being enjoyed in a situation of conflict. Put another way, conflicts create conditions for the most outrageous violations of human rights, since, contrary to all international law and rationality, the most vulnerable in society — children, women and the aged — are often targeted and deprived of the most basic of human rights, the right to life.

As we define and refine our Organization’s responsibilities in peacekeeping, which, by common consent, is now taken in its broadest sense to mean the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts, let us always be conscious that the universal enjoyment of human rights, one of the major aspirations of humanity, cannot and will not be achieved unless we devote as much effort to the elimination of the conditions that provoke the violation of those rights.

I believe that it is with this fact in mind that international organizations, whether global, regional or subregional, have been devoting considerable time to devising effective means of preventing, managing and resolving conflicts in their various area of competence. Of course, the United Nations, with its unique role as the only global Organization invested with authority for the maintenance of international peace and security, is, appropriately, taking the lead in these efforts….

-In 1987, his American wife of 25 years, Barbara J. Fernandez, filed for divorce, and the proceedings of the case was at the Supreme Court of the State of Connecticut (Barbara Fernandez v. Antonio Deinde Fernandez (13283) and the case ‘involved the applicability of the doctrine of diplomatic immunity to an action for marital dissolution and equitable property distribution.’ As at the time of the divorce, Barbara Fernandez stated ‘an international businessman and diplomat who has admitted to being one of the richest men in Africa. He heads dozens of companies, and I believe his net worth exceeds $75 million.’ She (plaintiff) also stated that, in her opinion ‘the defendant could easily sell or transfer assets that are relevant to her claims for relief.’ (Fernandez vs. Fernandez).

-Ambassador Antonio Deinde Fernandez ‘claimed diplomatic immunity by virtue of his status as an ambassador to the United Nations for the People’s Republic of Mozambique’, and moved that the court dismiss the entire suit for lack of personal jurisdiction. A waiver was later provided, and the full text of the waiver went thus, providing: ‘Limited Waiver of Immunity.’ ‘Pursuant to Article 32 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the People’s Republic of Mozambique hereby waives the immunity extended by the United States of America to Ambassador Antonio Deinde Fernandez under the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations to the following limited and restricted extent only…’

One very unique thing about this Yoruba high chief is that unlike many other moneybags in Nigeria today, he did not make his money in Nigerian public office but rather by working as a suave and most talented diplomat FOR other nations of the globe, at a time when IBB and others were struggling over coups to rule Nigeria, he was already dealing with governments one-on-one. He has no traceable business or investment in Nigeria and stays virtually permanently outside the country (na your money o but nothing for we people of Nigeria, not even a tashere foundation or school tabi hospital. No lele o, Baba God at the top is watching all of us on His Samsung Galaxy). It is quite unfortunate that quite little is known about him (haha, I know how much I wrote on Adenuga na…lol!) because of intense privacy (which he has every right to), and what that means is that we may never know his real worth. At any rate, I stick to Forbes and Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index which lists Aliko Dangote as the richest black person on the third planet in the Solar System. Maybe a day will come when the Big Masquerade, the Afobaje (Kingmaker), the Custodian of Prosperity & Panache, Olori Ogboni Agba (Supreme Ogboni Chief) and Olori Oluwo (Head of the Occult) of Lagos, will come out and displace the Kano tycoon. If that day comes, this piece will be rewritten. Let’s take a good look at some of his titles, honours and awards (he is a tribal Yoruba chief and said to be one of the most prominent members of the Ogboni Confraternity):

-His Imperial Highness Garsan Fulanin Kano (Kano State, Nigeria).

-Baron of Dudley (England). -Grand Officier de l’Ordre National du Leopard (Grand Officer of the National Order of the Leopard, the Democratic Republic of Congo)

-Grand Officier de l’Ordre du Merite Centrafricain (Grand Officer of the Order of Merit, Central African Republic).

-Grand Officier de l’Ordre du Mono (Grand Officer of the Order of Mono, Togo).

-Commandeur de l’Ordre National du Merite du Gabon (Commander of the National Order of Merit, Gabon).

-Officier du Ouissam Alaouite (Officer of the Ouissam Alaouite, Morocco where the descendants of the Alaouite dynasty rule as kings. The present is King Sidi Mohammed VI)

Thanks for your time.

Ashanti Finally ‘Over’ Nelly; Spotted With New Mystery Guy

Ashanti might tell you she and Nelly never dated but we all know the truth.
After ten years of being in a relationship with Nelly, Ashanti seems to be finding her muse once again. Although Nelly first got a new girlfriend-Tae Heckard from BET’s ‘The Game’, Ashanti seems to be hanging around this guy a whole lot of times.

Nollywood has released yet another soft porn titled "Bold 5 babes".
photoWe remember the one which involved Tonto Dikeh, Jim Iyke and a Ghanaian actress. Just last week, another was released featuring Tony Umez and Chinelo in "Room 027" and now this.
Reading through the viewers comments and reviews, it is clear that Nigerians despise these soft porns.
But how come these supposed porn producers still remain in business? This means they still have people who patronize them despite all the criticism. It's surprising how girls with short dresses are utterly disgraced in public, yet buyers are encouraging soft porn.
Gone are those days, when even the kissing part of Nollywood movies were faked. Now, we hide under civilization and globalization which seems to have encouraged nudity in Nigeria.
We would really like to hear what you think about this new trend in Nollywood. Are Nigerians ready to embrace nudity?
Watch the preview below.

PHOTOS: Thousands Across The World Act Out Killing of Christ to Commemorate Good Friday

Christians around the world are marking Good Friday with re-enactments of the Crucifixion including devotees in the Philippines who really have their hands nailed to the cross. From Australia to Europe and across to the Americas, worshippers playing Jesus Christ have been led through the streets by gangs of Romans before being hoisted onto crosses.
Church services and early morning ceremonies have been held to mark one of the holiest days in the Christian calender day when Jesus was said to have been killed on the cross.

About two dozen Filipinos were nailed to crosses in an extreme display of devotion that the Catholic church looks down upon as a form of folk religion but appears powerless to stop.
The re-enactment of the passion of Jesus Christ draws thousands of tourists to the Pampanga region, 80 km (50 miles) north of the capital, to watch barefoot penitents flagellate themselves and a series of crucifixions on an artificial hill.
The practice, which took hold in the province about 60 years ago as form of religious vow by poor people seeking forgiveness, a cure for illness and the fulfilment of other wishes.

Archbishop Paciano Aniceto said the gory practice was a distortion of Christ's teachings of love and selfless service. But he conceded that the church could not stop the ritual that he described as 'popular piety'.
Another bishop said people had to understand the folk Catholicism widely practiced in the Philippines, which has the largest Christian population in Asia. About 80 percent of its 96 million people are Catholic.
'We are in no position to suppress them,' Auxiliary Bishop Pablo Virgilio David told Reuters.
'I do not think it is right to close our doors to them just because they are more attracted to these folk practices than to our Roman liturgy which they may find too foreign or cerebral.'

Devotees, insisting they were prepared to endure pain as penance, had 5-inch stainless steel nails driven into their hands. Then, for a few minutes, they were hanged on wooded crosses.
'We do this because of our faith not because we're paid,' Ruben Inaje, a house painter who has played the role of Christ for 27 years, told Reuters.
'Two years ago, I said it would be the last time I'd do it. But every time I say that, my wife gets sick. I guess God wants me to continue this sacrifice as a lifetime vow,' he said before taking up a 50 kg (110 lb) cross and heading to the crucifixion site.
A circus-like atmosphere prevailed on a sun-drenched day.
'It's my first time to witness a man being crucified,' said Charlotte Johansen, 26, a Norwegian non-government organisation worker, was taking pictures with her friends.

The village of Cutud has built the hill with three crosses for the main ceremony with crucifixions also taking place in two nearby villages.
Souvenir and food vendors staked out the hill and people selling ice-cream and sodas wandered among the crowd.
'The crucifixions here have become a purely tourism event,' said an official from the area, who handles accreditation for the flock of journalists which descends every year.
In Jerusalem's Old City Hundreds of Christians streamed through the cobblestone alleyways of hoisting wooden crosses and chanting prayers.
Throngs of pilgrims walked a traditional Good Friday procession that retraces Jesus' steps along the Via Dolorosa, Latin for the 'Way of Suffering.' They followed his 14 stations, saying a prayer at each and ending at the ancient Holy Sepulcher church.
Along the route, Franciscan friars in brown robes chanted prayers in Latin and explained the different stations to crowds through a megaphone.

Leonard Mary, a priest from Irondale, Alabama, was dressed as Jesus wearing a crown of thorns. He was flanked by men posing as Roman soldiers and had fake blood dripping down his chest as he lugged a giant cross down the street.
'The most perfect love that was ever seen in the world was when Jesus died for us. He showed us the perfection of love,' said Mary.
Good Friday events kicked off with a Mass earlier in the morning at the cavernous Holy Sepulcher, which was built on the place where tradition holds Jesus was crucified, briefly entombed and resurrected.

They chat regularly over 1 month, she finds him very exciting & is always looking forward to chatting with him, she began to hate weekends cos he was never available to chat. They chatted about everything and recently their chats became very sexually explicit, she got turned on by d things he asked her to do, then one day he asks her to send a pix of her private part, she excitedly does that without hesitation , he then asks her to take other pix of her body parts & she did & sent all to him.

The husband called her that he would not be coming down to Lagos for that weekend because of a seminar in Abuja. When asked about her itinerary, she told her hubby that she will be home for the weekend with the kids.

  • Shareyll Hunter
A pregnant woman was nearly killed when a woman also pregnant with her boyfriend’s child deliberately slammed into her with a car, Houston police said.
The injured woman, who is five-months pregnant, was pinned between the wall of a house and a car driven by Shareyll Hunter, KTRK reported.
The attack was the culmination of a love triangle among Hunter, 26, her ex-boyfriend Christopher Chaney and the victim: Chaney’s new girlfriend Alise Kelley, 21, Houston’s Fox 26 station reported.
Kelley is in the hospital with two broken legs, CW39 NewsFix reported. Her unborn child is reportedly OK, but doctors might have to amputate one or both of her legs.
Chaney, who has two children already with Hunter, said that the two women have been arguing continuously for days on end.
“They just don’t like each other. I don’t know if it’s because of me or what. I mean, I am handsome,” Chaney said, according to KTRK.
After allegedly ramming into Kelley outside Chaney’s house, police contend that Hunter drove off with her ex’s Lincoln Continental LS, KHOU reported.
She’s reportedly still on the loose.

NUJ President, 74 Others Escape Death As Aircraft Loses Engine Mid-air

Over 75 passengers and crew narrowly escaped death Thursday as a Rabat, Morocco-bound Royal Air Maroc flight lost one of its engines mid-air.
The flight, which took off at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at about 7:30am, had on board National President of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Garba Mohammed, and seven other Nigerian journalists who were to attend the Federation of Africa Journalists conference in Morocco.
The other journalists include National Secretary, NUJ, Shuaibu Liman, National Treasurer, Fatima Abdulkarim, Mukhtar Gidado, former Vice President, Zone E, Gbenga Onayiga, as well as chairmen of Bauchi and Kogi states chapters of the union.
Also on board the flight was a group of Beninois journalists who were billed to attend the same conference.
Vanguard gathered that the aircraft, Boeing 737-800, was already an hour into the flight when the pilot noticed failure in one of the engines of the twin-engine aircraft.
He was said to have immediately embarked on a return to point of take-off and called for emergency landing.
Lagos airport officials who preferred anonymity, said fire tenders and ambulance vehicles were deployed in response to the emergency declared by the pilot.
Fire hydrants were reportedly deployed in runway 18R where the pilot was expected to land the aircraft, having shed off fuel.
The pilot was, however, said to have landed safely without any injury to passengers and bodily damage to the aircraft.
Passengers who had urgent appointments to keep in Morocco reportedly engaged officials of the airline in war of words for deploying an aircraft deemed not airworthy.
The intervention of airport officials was said to have prevented what could have been an ugly spectacle at the airport.
NUJ President, Garba Mohammed, who thanked God for averting what could have been a major disaster, said the aircraft engines on take-off made some deafening vibrations, which frightened passengers on board.
He quoted the Beninois journalists as saying the engines gave a similar sound when they took off in Cotonou yesterday morning en route Lagos.
At press time, it was learnt that the airline was making arrangements to check the passengers into an hotel as stipulated by international civil aviation regulations, with a promise to airlift them to their destination today.

oscar pristorius given permission to travel abroad

South African sprinter Oscar Pistorius, charged with murdering his girlfriend, will be allowed to travel after challenging his bail terms.

A judge said the Olympic and Paralympic star would be allowed to leave South Africa to compete as long as he complies with certain conditions.

He will also be allowed to return to his home in Pretoria, where Reeva Steenkamp was shot and killed.

He denies murdering the 29-year-old, saying he mistook her for an intruder.

In the hearing at Pretoria's High Court, Mr Pistorius also sought an end to supervision by a probation officer and compulsory drug and alcohol testing.

The state opposed the application. Mr Pistorius, 26, was not in court for the hearing.

    Seeking income
The bail conditions were imposed by Magistrate Desmond Nair on 22 February - including the travel restrictions.

Mr Pistorius was originally ordered to hand over his two South African passports, avoid his home in Pretoria and all witnesses in the case, report to a police station twice a week and to abstain from drinking alcohol.

But they were relaxed but Judge Bert Bam, who described the decision not to grant Mr Pistorius permission to travel as "wrong".

Defence lawyer Barry Roux said the bail conditions amounted to "house arrest".

"Why would this athlete go to a country without extradition and go and hide," he asked the court.

"It is not as if the appellant is travelling for holiday in Mauritius; it's only to gain an income, there's no other reason."

Reports said the athlete had not yet resumed training and had no current plans to compete internationally.

In an unrelated case, the athlete's brother, Carl Pistorius, appeared in court on Wednesday charged with the culpable homicide of a female motorcyclist in a 2008 road crash. He pleaded not guilty and is due to appear in court again next week.

Many Killed As Gunmen Attack Bokkos, Plateau

Gunmen were reported to have killed unconfirmed number of persons in a Wednesday night attack on Mile-Bakwai village in Bokkos, Plateau.

photo Many Killed As Gunmen Attack Bokkos, Plateau
Navy Capt. Jude Akpa, the Media Officer of the Special Task Force (STF) maintaining the peace in Plateau, confirmed the attack and said that the attackers shot and injured two officers of the STF, all of them mobile policemen.
He, however, said that the casualty figure was ``still being verified’’, but confirmed that men of the STF killed six of the attackers and made some arrests.
However, Mr Zakka Akos, the Chairman, Bokkos Local Government, confirmed that 18 bodies were recovered at the scene of the attack.
Also Dr Kumbem Temang of Cottage Hospital, Bokkos confirmed that 18 people were killed and among them was a 70 year old woman known as Kaka Kiwo.
A victim of the attack, one Majau Yohanna, as saying that the attackers invaded the village “from 7 p.m. not long after we returned from our farms and were resting in our respective houses.
“They (attackers) came in large numbers and had very sophisticated weapons,’’ Yohanna, currently on admission at the Bingham University Teaching Hospital (BUTH), Jos.
According to him, “the attackers just descended on the villagers and started shooting everyone on sight. We had to run for our dear lives. In the process, some of us were shot down while trying to escape.
“I was shot on my right rib and it was just God that saved me. It is a miracle that I am still alive,’’ he said.
Mr Thomas Mafai, a relation of Yohanna, who rushed him to BUTH because of the serious injuries he sustained, claimed that he counted 20 bodies, including two policemen that were killed during the attack on the village.
“Some of the victims are being treated at the Dung Hospital, Bokkos,” he said.
Mafai however confirmed that six of the attackers were killed by men of the STF maintaining peace in Plateau.
When contacted, the Plateau Police Commissioner, Mr Chris Olakpe, said he was “very busy strategising with my Divisional Police Officers and will not want any encumbrances.”
Akpa, while confirming the attack, said that the two policemen shot by the attackers were currently on admission at the Barkin Ladi General Hospital.
“But like I told you, we are not sure of the casualty figure. We are still verifying. It was a night attack so people could have been killed anywhere. People were killed, but we cannot confirm the number of those killed. The STF Commander there is still verifying the figures,’’ he added.
He also could not confirm the number of those arrested, but declared that normalcy had been restored to the affected area.
“Our men are on ground there and things are calm,’’ he said.
